Abstract: This paper proposes and tests a model concerning how Islamic ideology and psychological need affect political attitude to change democracy, and establish khilafa-sharia in Indonesia. The fundamental Moslem groups want Indonesia to be governed based on Islamic system, and establish khilafa-syaria as a state system based on the Islamic rules  and system; they are known for their violent actions, be it in the form of terrorism or armed struggle and actively they hire new members from young people. The model was developed based on the System Justification Theory by Jost and Banaji (1994) and Social Identity Theory (Tajfel, 1972) for Indonesian case context. The model represents an initial attempt to describe and evaluate the effects of various dimensions of psychological need and Islamic ideology. This theoretical model wants to test how uncertainty avoidance need, threat management need, salafi ideology, daula Islam ideology, and in-group identification affect Moslem attitude to establish khilafa-sharia in Indonesia. Analysis of the data from 384 members of three fundamental groups who participated in the study confirms the fit of the proposed model to the data. The model that fit with the data is the variable of khilafasharia influenced directly by in-group identification and indirectly by uncertainty avoidance need, threat management need,  salafi ideology, and daula Islam ideology. A methodological tool has also been presented; latent construct validation of Islamic ideology was discussed.
